Environments

In Pistachio, Environment refers to places where you will want to run Pistachio.

For example, the admin portal for the Pistachio is an Environment. Similarly, running webpart inside SharePoint is an environment too. So, we have 2 different types of Environment,
1. Webpart
2. Admin Portal

The installer automatically creates Environment records for you for the Admin Portal and the Webpart by default, based on the information you provide in the installer. You can create as many environment as you like.

The URLs setting is the key identifier for loading up the environment's settings.
The entries should be made in the following formats:
For non ssl sites running on port 80 - http://your.url
For non ssl sites running on non 80 ports - http://your.url:port
For ssl sites running on regular 443 port - https://your.url:443
For ssl sites running on alternate ports - https://your.url:port

The following issues might appear in case the URLs are not set properly;
- Errors like - couldn't load the file or find the file at **certain location**
- The style sheets do not load properly.
- The java scripts do not fire properly.

To Manage the Environments, click on the Settings link on the left navigation, then click on Environments. Since, Webpart, and Admin Portal will have a little bit different settings, appropriate fields will be shown based on the Environment type selection.
